Lite F/X Controller Notes

Notes on my 1200W FOG F/X constant fog fogger from Lite F/X, model 17542 (date code 04/08/28), that I purchsed from Party City in 2004. It uses a simple controller that has an LED and a button for "pulse" and "constant" fog.

My goal is to activate the fogger from other circuitry.

Facing the male connector with the pins pointing toward you, the pinout is:

• Pin 1 (brown on controller; black on ghost box). Center connector on switch
• Pin 2 (blue on controller; green on ghost box). Ground on LED (which is connected through 1k resistor to Pin 1.
• Pin 3 (yellow on controller; brown on ghost box). Other sides of the switch.
• Pins 4 (no connection on ghost box) and 5 (red on ghost box). No connection on this controller, but it is one of the most simple -- those wires may be used for something else on the fogger side, which I have not evaluated.

When voltage appears across pins 1 and 2, the fogger is "ready".

When pins 2 and 3 are shorted, the fogger is "on".
