Broccoli with Asian Garlic Sauce Serves 4 as side serving Ingredients * 4 cups broccoli florets and peeled stem slices * 3 garlic cloves, minced * 2 tablespoons sesame oil * 2 tablespoons soy sauce * 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth * 1 tablespoon cornstarch * red pepper flakes to taste * (1 can straw mushrooms or bamboo shoots or water chestnuts) Directions: - In a bowl, whisk the garlic, soy sauce, broth, (red pepper flakes) and cornstarch. - In a large skillet over medium high heat, add sesame oil and then broccoli. Cook for about 4 minutes,stirring often to prevent burning. - Reduce heat to medium low, add can of vegetable and then add garlic sauce. Stir well to coat. - Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring. Sauce will thicken and coat the vegetables.
