Broccoli with Asian Garlic Sauce
Serves 4 as side serving
Ingredients
4 cups broccoli florets and peeled stem slices
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
red pepper flakes to taste
(1 can straw mushrooms or bamboo shoots or water chestnuts)
Directions:
In a bowl, whisk the garlic, soy sauce, broth, (red pepper flakes) and cornstarch.
In a large skillet over medium high heat, add sesame oil and then broccoli. Cook for about 4 minutes,stirring often to prevent burning.
Reduce heat to medium low, add can of vegetable and then add garlic sauce. Stir well to coat.
Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring. Sauce will thicken and coat the vegetables.
